Next up for Monette:

The World Premiere of UNDER MY SKIN at Pasadena Playhouse! This laugh-riot new play by the acclaimed writing/producing duo of Robert Sternin and Prudence Fraser is directed by Tony Award-nominee Marcia Milgrom Dodge.

The play is a great mash-up: take the concept of the outrageously funny movie"All of Me," add the snappiest of contemporary comedy dialog, toss them into the timely, hot button setting of the health insurance industry and...hilarity ensues!

Monette plays Manhattan WASP Queen Victoria and a colorful cast of other unique ladies that help to paint this funny, but thoughtful, gender-bending portrait of the pursuit of love--and healthcare. Come to the Playhouse for a great laugh--the very adult themes guarantee a saucy and side-splitting date night!!

Monette was last seen on TV in her Recurring Guest Star Role on Showtime’s hit show, “Weeds!” Monette plays “Stroller Mommy” Cheryl in episodes 4 & 5 of season 6. Below is a scene from episode 4:

Other Stage News:

In April 2012, Monette finished a triumphant run as Daisy Buchanan in THE GREAT GATSBY at Arizona Theatre Company. Adapted from F.Scott Fitzgerald’s novel by Simon Levy, the production was directed by Stephen Wrentmore, ATC’s new Associate Artistic Director. Monette was thrilled to have been a part of this heartbreaking and thrilling American Tragedy.

Monette also recently starred in the World Premiere of SILENT SKY at South Coast Repertory Theater and as Abbie Putnam in DESIRE UNDER THE ELMS at A Noise Within Theatre.

In SILENT SKY she played real-life Astronomer Henrietta Swan Leavitt as she left the farm she grew up on in the early 1900's for a job at Harvard Observatory --a place she had dreamed of for years. The journey changed not only who she thought she could be, but how we will see the Universe forever. Check out this slide show:  and a few scenes from the show:

As Abbie in DESIRE UNDER THE ELMS, she sought out a farm through marriage in 1850 New England, hoping to gain security through a home of her own. But when lust and then--shockingly--love changed everything, tragedy occurred in Greek proportions. Here is an interview Monette did about playing this iconic seductress: . You can also watch a slide show of images from the production set to the original score by Endre Balough used in the show here:

Monette’s feature film, JAKE’S CLOSET, is now out on DVD and available nationwide. For more information, go to:
